Site measurement

We use Plausible and Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools are useful. Measurement includes page visits and actions such as using a tool or following a product link.

Tool events use fixed action categories. They do not include shoe size, trip dates, drying assumptions or contact messages.

Google Analytics is configured with analytics and advertising storage denied. This still allows measurement requests. Google receives connection information, such as your IP address and browser details. We send Google the page address without its query string, fragment or referring address.

Plausible provides aggregate reports about page visits, referring pages, time spent and scrolling. We send it the page address without its query string or fragment. Its service also receives your referring address, IP address and browser details.

Cookies, and visitors in the EEA and the UK

This site sets no cookies of its own. The size finder and the trip planner keep what you enter in the page or in your own browser; nothing you type leaves the device.

Google Analytics runs with analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation all set to denied before it starts, so it stores nothing on your device and reads nothing back. That is why there is no consent banner: there is no storage to consent to. Plausible sets no cookies at all and does not follow you between sites.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the measurement above is aggregate counting. We hold no account, no profile and nothing that identifies you, so there is no profile to export, correct or delete. Use the contact page for any privacy question.

Third parties that can receive request data when you use this site: Google Analytics and Plausible as described above, Amazon when a product photograph loads or you follow a retailer link, and the brand whose page you open from a source link. If a display advertising network is added later, this page will name it and describe its consent mechanism before the first advertisement appears.

Retailer links

Retailer links on this site are affiliate links: they carry a tracking code so the retailer can attribute the referral and pay us a commission. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. It costs you nothing extra and it changes no suggestion on this site.

Amazon product photographs load directly from Amazon and link back to that product’s own Amazon page, as the programme requires. Amazon receives your IP address and normal browser information when a photograph loads.

Your choices

Finder and packing inputs are processed in this browser. The tools do not require an account. Comparison links contain product IDs only. No shoe size, trip date, drying assumption or contact message is included in a comparison link.

Retailers and photographs

A retailer link opens an external site governed by its own policies. Authorized product images may load directly from a merchant image service, which receives ordinary browser request information.

Contact messages

Contact delivery is turned off. This site does not send contact messages.
