Hiking sock size charts by brand
Every maker prints its own chart, so your sock size changes with the brand. A US men’s 9 is a medium at Darn Tough (8–9.5) but a large at Smartwool (9–11.5). Find your brand below, or look up your size in one step.

Ranges are each maker’s own; where two sizes are shown the published ranges overlap at that size. Women’s, kids’ and other charts are on each brand’s page.

How to read a sock size chart
Find the column for the shoe-size system you know (US men’s, US women’s, EU or UK), find your size in it, and read the sock size at the left of that row. Use the size of your foot, not of a boot you bought large. If your size sits on a boundary, follow the maker’s own advice: Darn Tough and Injinji say size up.
Then put the sock on with the shoes you will hike in and check the heel, toes and cuff with the fit checklist.
