Shopping links explained

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. This page explains which links earn and how that is kept apart from the sock suggestions.

What the shopping buttons do

“Check price on Amazon” opens the matching Amazon listing with our Associates tag. “View at Darn Tough” and similar buttons open the maker’s own product page; we have no paid arrangement with those makers.

This site does not show Amazon prices, stock, deals or reviews; check them on the listing. The size and color Amazon opens on may not be yours, so choose your size there.

Which links earn a commission

HikingSocks.guide is a participant in the Amazon Associates program. “Check price on Amazon” buttons and Amazon product photos carry this site’s Amazon tracking tag, and HikingSocks.guide earns a commission on qualifying purchases made through them, at no extra cost to you. Links to a maker’s or another shop’s own website are ordinary links and earn nothing.

How paid links are marked

Every Amazon link is marked as sponsored, and a short disclosure sits before the first Amazon link on each page that has one. The footer repeats it on every page.

Why commission does not change what you see

Picks, lists and the finder sort by published facts: cuff height, cushion, blend, chart and construction. Whether a sock has an Amazon listing, or which shop sells it, is never part of that order.

Product photographs

Amazon product photos load through Amazon’s approved product-content service and link to the matching listing. They are Amazon’s photos, not ours, and not evidence that we tested a pair. Where no photo is licensed, the drawing of the sock in your footwear stands in.

Future programs

If we join a maker’s or another retailer’s affiliate program, its links will be marked the same way and this page will list it.
