Where our sock facts come from

Which socks are in this guide, where their facts come from, and what we can’t tell you yet.

Catalog coverage

The catalog holds 527 hiking socks from 27 brands, read from the makers’ own product pages. It covers merino, synthetic and alpaca blends, toe socks, liners, double layers and waterproof socks. Unknown material or market details stay visible, and coverage is not a ranking.

Maker list prices are read from each maker’s own product page and shown with the date they were read. Amazon prices are never shown; Amazon sets its own.

Product facts and imagery

Product specifications are linked to their sources. Product photography appears only when the exact model and the permitted delivery method are established. A public manufacturer page does not by itself permit reuse of its photographs.

Finding the source

Model profiles consolidate their ordinary specification references into a short source list. The sources page provides a supporting index. A specific disputed claim may retain a nearby citation when it explains the difference.

Machine-readable access

The site provides a short llms.txt guide and a catalog-health document. It does not offer a licensed product-image feed, bulk price export or public product-data API. Do not treat the health document as retailer availability.

Correct a record

Use the contact form for a model correction, rights concern or accessibility problem. Include the affected page and the exact source where possible. Never include passwords, order details or other private account information.

Retailer names and exact identifiers

A different title, color or pack count does not by itself establish a retailer-exclusive construction. Compare the brand style number, market, material label, size-chart basis and any UPC before merging two offers. This catalog has no verified exclusive-model collection, so it does not present an empty exclusives index. Exact identity fields are available on each model profile.
