Budget hiking socks

The lowest maker list prices for an adult hiking sock here start at $11; half of the 466 priced adult socks cost $25 or less. Below are the three cheapest of each kind, one per brand, so a low price never costs you the cuff or padding your shoes need. Kids’ socks start at $13.

List prices are each maker’s regular price on its own site, checked Oct 11 – Nov 4, 2026. Sales and shop prices differ; Amazon sets its own.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday hiking socks

On Nov 3, 2026, Smartwool already takes 30% off some colours and sizes of its hiking socks, and Darn Tough is at full price. Last Black Friday, Darn Tough’s own shop cut no prices and Smartwool emailed its mailing list a 25% code; the Darn Tough discount we found came from a shop, Everest Gear, at 25% off.

These are the two sock brands hikers search for most around Black Friday. On Nov 3, 2026, Farm to Feet’s Black Friday page showed its best sellers at their regular prices, and its site shipped US orders of $50 or more free.

Three ways to pay less

Cyber Monday is Nov 30, 2026. Last year both makers’ Black Friday offers ran through it: Darn Tough’s free shipping to Dec 1, and Smartwool’s code to the same day. The terms Smartwool has posted for this year run Nov 26 to Dec 1.

Spending less without the wrong sock

The cheapest sock is a bargain only if it fits your shoes. Pick the height and padding first, then compare prices inside that kind; the pages linked above list every model, not only the cheapest.

A long guarantee can matter more than a few dollars: Darn Tough replaces its socks for life, while some brands guarantee one or two years. Compare them on the guarantees and returns page.
